
In this note we will teach you step by step how to use the Devices module. You will learn how to add, modify or delete a GPS device on the DeltaTracking platform. We will also tell you how to create a group of devices, modify it or delete it.
You should know that our platform is characterized by being intuitive and friendly to use. Therefore, managing your GPS units is quite simple. You can do it in an orderly way and
classify them by groups, highlighting those that are most relevant.
We currently work with more than 200 communication protocols that use more than 1000 models of GPS devices.
Only those who have the Administrator role can see, create, modify and delete devices. For his part, the Moderator, can only see and / or modify them.

Add a GPS device from the device module
Follow these steps to add a GPS device to the platform:
- Enter the Fleet section.
- Click on Devices to open the section where all the devices in the account are located.
- Press the New button, which is displayed at the top, to see the form that you must fill out.
- Complete the form with the information requested. The one with an asterisk (*) is the information needed to create the device. And the rest can be left blank.
Us form consists of several sections, which include the following information:
Unit Data
Here you can put a name to the device and its corresponding identification. This will help you distinguish it when monitoring it.
From this section of the device module you can also customize the icon that represents the unit, so that it appears with a reference to the vehicle.
- GPS device name
- Vehicle type
- ID-Short Name
- Group
- Plate number

Computer data
This section contains the information for connecting the
device to the platform.
- IMEI (USSD code pre-recorded in GSM mobile phones.
- This code uniquely identifies the device worldwide)
- GPS device type
- SIM phone
- SIM serial number
- Service status

Other data
This section of the device module contains all the alerts that you need to receive and information about the circuit breaker, in case it is necessary to install it.
- Selection of rules (Selection of notifications to receive)
- Ignition Input (Cutout Configuration)
- Notes.

Modify information of a GPS device
If you want to modify information on an existing GPS device, follow these steps:
- Go to the Fleet section.
- Then click on Devices.
- Select the GPS device to modify and a window will appear.
- Click on Edit and all the sections that you can modify will appear. Except for the ID “Short Name”, which lets you change its name, but not the database.
Delete a GPS device
- Go to the Fleet section.
- Click on Devices.
- Click on Edit. At the bottom of the device edit form, the Delete icon and description will appear.
- Click on Save changes and you’re done.
Create a Group from the device module
The GPS device groups are used to show the necessary devices to the required users. This prevents everyone from having access to them. Also, groups are used to organize units, if necessary.
To create a new group, from the device module, follow these steps:
- Go to the Fleet section.
- Then click on Devices and a section will open where you will find all the devices of the account.
- Click on the New Group button, which appears at the top and place the name you want to give the group there.
- Click on the Save button to save the information.
Modify and / or delete a Group
- Go to the Fleet section.
- Then click on Devices.
- Click on the group to modify and / or delete. It will appear with a gray bar.
- Click on the pencil icon to modify the group name and click Save to register the change.
- Click on the trash icon (Trash) if you want to delete the group and confirm the deletion.
